WASHINGTON, D.C., : The small Kashmiri pandit community in the U.S. have decided to establish their first cultural center to provide a platform to showcase the richness of Kashmir’s Hindu heritage. The decision was reached at the recently concluded Third Annual camp of Kashmiri pandits in the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California, which was attended by Kashmiri pandits from all across the U.S.“The center will set the tone for future generations. It will be matter of pride and heritage and a place that all Kashmiri Hindus will be able to connect emotionally. It will represent the symbol of hope and reminder of where we came from and connect with our roots,” said the press release.
“It will provide an opportunity to the world to learn and experience the culture of Kashmir and Kashmiri pandits, with its spiritual gurus, soulful poetry and music, Kashmir Shaivism, arts, history and the humanities. The center will be a great community hub that will unite, serve and celebrate being Kashmiri Hindu,” the statement said.
